Peace Lutheran College is seeking to appoint a Principal who is an exceptional educator, communicator and visionary leader with the capacity to support and enhance the College’s mission and values and the new strategic direction. The College is proud to serve students from diverse cultural backgrounds, with strong ties to the First Nations people and our close neighbours from Papua New Guinea.

<p>Peace Lutheran College is a co-educational College for students from K to Year 12 with a boarding component for students between Years 7-12. Peace Lutheran College is situated on the eastern coast of Far North Queensland, between the World Heritage Rainforests, the fertile Atherton Tablelands and the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns has a dynamic educational environment, with a variety of Primary, Secondary and tertiary facilities, including campuses of James Cook University and Central Queensland University.  As well as serving Lutherans in the Far North of Queensland, Torres Strait Islands, Papua New Guinea and further afield, Peace is a college with a mission to share the good news of salvation through the saving grace of our Lord Jesus with both fellow Christians of other denominations, as well as those of non-Christian backgrounds.</p><p><b>Peace Lutheran College is seeking to employ a Principal from the commencement of 2023.</b><br /></p><p>Being co-educational, Peace is committed to educating students of all cultures together so that they grow to maturity in an environment that reflects the multicultural world we live in. As a boarding college, Peace attracts students from outside of the Cairns area, thus adding to its multi-cultural flavour. These students bring their respective backgrounds to Peace, enriching the lives of all students by sharing their experiences and ways of life. An integral part of the Peace campus approach is to recognize the cultures of all students in such a way that students benefit from each other’s history.</p><p>Pastoral Care and well-being are a distinctive feature of our Mission, Vision and Values, with additional support provided by a Student Welfare Officer, the College Pastor, the Director of Wellbeing and Heads of House who work with students across all year levels.<br /></p><p> </p><p>The next Principal will embrace the history and culture of Peace Lutheran College, while leading change in a contemporary educational environment. The new Principal will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the College and work towards implementing the College’s new strategic direction and assist in the development of the College’s Masterplan in line with the College Council’s priorities.
