An outstanding opportunity at St Clare’s College exists for a School Counsellor / Psychologist with a counselling background to join us to promote the wellbeing of our students through the provision of high-quality counselling services.

<p>An outstanding opportunity at St Clare’s College exists for a School Counsellor / Psychologist with a counselling background to join us to promote the wellbeing of our students through the provision of high-quality counselling services.</p><p>The successful applicant will provide support to students, their parents/carers, and staff to promote the social and emotional wellbeing of students from Year 7 to Year 12.</p><p>Experienced counsellors and/or Registered Psychologists are encouraged to apply for this part-time ongoing position, 3 days per week, beginning the start of Term 3 2022 (18/7/22). The successful applicant will be required to be present at the College between 8.30 am and 4.00 pm and will not be required to work school holidays. Flexibility in scheduling will be an advantage.</p><p><b>The School Counsellor/Psychologist will optimise the wellbeing of students through:</b></p><ul><li>Triage, risk assessment, counselling, referral and case management.</li><li>Providing individual therapy.</li><li>Working collaboratively with and providing professional advice to staff and parents.</li><li>Running group sessions and workshops with students and/ or staff.</li></ul><p><b>Essential Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Minimum 4 years experience in a counselling role</li><li>Bachelor Degree in either psychology or social work</li><li>Registration or eligibility for APS or AASW</li><li>Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).</li></ul><p><b>Desirable Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).</li><li>Endorsement as an Educational &amp; Developmental Psychologist </li><li>Experience working in schools or with adolescent girls and families providing counselling for a range of mental health issues.</li><li>A thorough understanding of student academic and wellbeing needs throughout adolescence.</li><li>Experience working individually, with groups and with year cohorts.</li></ul><p><b>How to Apply:</b></p><p>To apply please click &#34;Apply for Job&#34; and submit the following, addressed to the College Principal, Mrs Kerrie McDiarmid</p><ol><li>Covering letter which will reflect the above criteria;</li><li>Resume outlining qualifications and experience</li><li>Three referees including name and contact details.</li></ol><p><u>Please note: Interviews may commence prior to the closing date</u></p><p><b>Applications close: 7 June 2022</b><br /></p><p><b>Position commences: Term 3 2022</b></p><p><i>Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, students and school communities.
