The Coordinator will lead and collaborate on the delivery of high-quality education, with a team of specialists including teachers, teacher's aides, school therapists, coordinators, administrators and other Aspect staff.&nbsp; You will use a student-centred and family-focused approach to ensure the&nbsp;delivery of&nbsp;quality educational standards. As a core member of the school's Leadership Team, you will lead and develop the Education team and&nbsp;work with families and other members of the school community. <a href="https://applynow.net.au/jobs/ASPECT1517/assets/17736702" target="_blank">To view the full position profile, please click&nbsp;here.</a></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>About the School:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>Aspect Vern Barnett&nbsp;School&nbsp;provides&nbsp;placement for approximately 100 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 16 years from&nbsp;Forestville, as well as from five satellite classes&nbsp;within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Sydney’s northern suburbs.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong>&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Lead on high quality implementation of the NSW Curriculum and inclusive practices across the school to address specific individual needs</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Develop and foster effective working relationships with and between colleagues</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Work with the Principal to lead the implementation of the School Improvement Plan</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Plan, lead and support the Education team to provide the highest quality education to students</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Provide regular coaching, support and development to staff team to improve practice</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Develop knowledge and practice from other professionals in collaboration with the school's Leadership and Therapy Team</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Leading other whole school initiatives, events, programs and activities as required</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>What we are looking for:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">An active instructional leader for staff who has a deep understanding of the curriculum, curriculum delivery and student behaviour</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">A highly reflective leader with the capacity to lead in challenging situations</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Well developed emotional intelligence that can adapt to a fast paced and rewarding work environment</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">A leader that thrives working with students with autism</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">A candidate available to work full time (38 hrs per week)</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Recognised teaching&nbsp;qualifications as determined by NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Proven ability to collaborate and build effective and positive working relationships with others</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Demonstrated leadership ability to use effective change management strategies</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Professional knowledge and demonstrated leadership experience of improving teaching practice that results in improved educational outcomes for students</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience in developing and applying curriculum for students on the autism spectrum or neurodiversity preferred</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>What we offer:&nbsp;</strong>As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), Aspect employees receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities including $15,899 each year tax free.
