Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

<p><b>Location: </b>Xavier College - Llandilo</p><p>The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is looking for a skilled, contemporary and passionate Science Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students.</p> <p>Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and shares in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.</p> <p><strong>Key focus areas</strong></p> <p>The Secondary Science Teacher will fit the following criteria:</p> <p>-Contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of science and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning</p> <p>-Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning.</p> <p>-Exemplary professional practice which includes building effective relationships and managing complex interactions, creating and maintaining engaging and intellectually challenging and safe learning environments, planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs</p> <p>-Use assessments and constructive feedback to inform teaching and learning and communicating effectively with different audiences using a range of strategies</p> <p>-Commitment to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.</p> <p>-Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.</p> <p>-Exhibit personal approaches characterised by caring and respect for others.</p> <p><strong>The Organisation</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.</p> <p dir="ltr">CEDP promotes the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
