<p>Bellfield College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and suitably qualified person to support the Principal in maintaining a safe and hazard-free workplace. Applicants with a current trade certificate in carpentry, building or electrical are desirable but not necessary. </p><p><b>Role Accountability </b></p><p>The Grounds and Maintenance officer is accountable for coordinating grounds, maintenance and/or construction work using trade level skills to ensure a clean, orderly, safe and instructionally supportive school. The Grounds and Maintenance Officer is responsible to the Principal. </p><p><b>Key Result Areas </b></p><ul><li>Coordinate daily building and grounds maintenance and cleaning tasks such as rubbish removal on pathways, in playgrounds and ovals, servicing of gates and doors etc.</li><li>Coordinate the school maintenance program, allocating tasks to other utility staff, subcontractors and/or volunteers as appropriate, and supervising work performed.</li><li>Coordinate and supervise school turf care and grounds program, allocating tasks to other utility staff, sub-contractors and/or volunteers as appropriate, and supervising work performed.</li><li>Coordinate induction processes for sub-contractors and service providers, ensuring that they hold appropriate evidentiary requirements, Working with Children Check, insurance and understand School policy and procedures in relation to work, health and safety.</li><li>Undertake specialised maintenance and / or grounds tasks that require the planning, ordering and modification of building or other materials.</li><li>Undertake small facilities maintenance and/or building projects including the monitoring of contractors if allocated.</li><li>Coordinate any cleaning and repairs required as a result of student accidents; extreme weather; or acts of vandalism.</li><li>Maintain hand and power tools and equipment to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose.</li><li>Follow chemical usage and storage procedures and when required, mix chemicals following manufacturer and organisational standards.</li><li>Move items of furniture and classroom supplies around the School.</li><li>Mark lines on school ovals/grounds for sporting events.</li><li>Set up furniture and equipment for sporting and special events at the School such as marquees or tents.</li><li>Coordinate daily security routines (unlocking and locking buildings) and safety inspections of school grounds and equipment.</li><li>Respond promptly and effectively to performing a range of general duties in accordance with school priorities.</li><li>Promote a positive image of the school in all interactions.</li><li>Support other teams during peak loads.</li></ul><p><i>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.</i></p><p><b>What next? </b></p><p>If you’d like to express interest, send through a full resume and covering letter addressing your interest and suitability to the role directly to Amy Carrigg hr&#64;bellfield.nsw.edu.au </p><p><b>Applications Close: Friday, 12th Augsut 2022.</b></p><p><b>Interviews may commence prior to closing date. </b></p><p>The starting salary for this position is $64,090 plus a Laundering of Uniforms and Tool Allowance in line with conditions outlined in the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021.  <b> </b></p><p><i>Bellfield College is committed to providing equal opportunity and supporting our communities by providing opportunities to grow and make a real difference.
