The role of the Leading Teacher will be to provide support to teachers to build their capacity in managing students&nbsp; with challenging behaviours, promoting student wellbeing and supporting the Marist Learning Zone community. And contribute to the development of relevant systems and processes that support the operations of the Marist Learning Zone including transition structures and support for students and teachers that increase success in learning in there home schools.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Marist Learning Zone - Mount Druitt&nbsp;</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">MLZ provides an alternative, high-support learning environment for students in CEDP schools who are struggling with their wellbeing or attendance. The purpose of the MLZ program is to provide intensive support to these at-risk students focusing on social-emotional learning, literacy numeracy and life skills. At MLZ students have access to specialist teachers, counsellors and case managers who work closely with their school to deliver an appropriately adjusted and personalised learning program.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">MLZ is a transition program with the aim of preparing students to return to their previous school, another CEDP school, or with the help of the Post-School Options Team, transition out of school and into further training and employment.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>More specifically you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide 1:1 support for students displaying complex and challenging behaviour Through building capacity of the teaching staff to manage behaviours. This work will also include working with small cohorts of students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Involvement in the review of the behaviour support plan with school team and CEDP specialist team personnel.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support leaders and teachers to design and implement effective systems and practices that are driven by data to improve learning outcomes and enhance student engagement and wellbeing with complex needs</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide professional learning, coaching and evaluation to home school staff and school teams in support of transition of students attending the Marist learning Zone</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Use multi-tiered systems of support to provide strategies that support the development of effective learning and behaviour interventions&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Undertake development and review processes that promote professional growth</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Mentor and collaborate with teachers to enable professional learning and develop capability to execute effective learning and behaviour support interventions&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Work systematically to conduct risk assessment and management plans</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Collaborate with school teams to promote partnerships with parents, carers and community</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Implement programmes and strategies responsive to the wellbeing needs of students and increasing their engagement&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Develop the capacity of students to build resilience, self advocacy and confidence</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About you:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Working with Children Check clearance</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Tertiary Qualification</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Statements of Service</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Appropriate demonstrated experience, with a strong knowledge base and an interest in behaviour support for students</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Previous experience in working with students with complex biopsychosocial needs and behavioural issues in a school setting</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
