<p>We seek a passionate 0.7 FTE teacher of Science (P-6) with a strong work ethic to join our team at St George Preca School. The role is an ongoing position covering Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and alternating Fridays (negotiable). The position commences at the start of the 2023 school year. </p><p><br /></p><p>The role and responsibility of the 0.7 FTE Science teacher is to:</p><p>- Teach the Science program according to the Victorian Curriculum, with an emphasis on Environmental Sciences and community partnerships eg. Zoos Victoria &amp; Parks Victoria</p><p>- Organise systematic assessment of student’s Science skill development </p><p>- Meet with the designated Learning and Teaching Leader regularly to discuss the Science program being delivered </p><p>- Promote Science in the school and to the wider community</p><p>- Assess, analyze, document, monitor, and track student progress</p><p>- Develop a stimulating learning environment by using a variety of styles and approaches to cater to individual learning needs</p><p>- Use the knowledge of students, content, and pedagogy to establish clear, achievable, documented, and targeted learning goals</p><p>- Use contemporary learning tools to engage students and staff in their learning </p><p>- Regularly reflect on and critically evaluate professional knowledge and the effectiveness of teaching and commit to the school’s feedback culture and practices</p><p>Special Requirements </p><p>The successful applicant will: </p><p>• have an understanding of the ethos and traditions of the Catholic Church </p><p>• have VIT registration </p><p>• be accredited to teach RE or committed to achieving this accreditation </p><p>• be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment </p><p>• Commit to St George Preca School&#39;s Child Safe policies and the Code of Conduct </p><p>Applicants should address the Selection Criteria, include a resume, and name three referees, including their current Principal.
