<p><b>Location: </b>Bede Polding College - South Windsor</p><p dir="ltr"><strong>Director of Learning and Wellbeing, 3Pt Co-Ordinator - Permanent Full-time Start Term 1 2023</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Bede Polding College is looking for a Director of Learning and Wellbeing who provides leadership, direction and support for wellbeing programs across the College. In collaboration with other members of the College Executive, the Director of Learning and Wellbeing fosters a culture that promotes wellbeing across the community.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">The Director of Learning and Wellbeing leads the College in implementing best practices in student wellbeing and the wellbeing of staff and families. The Director of Learning and Wellbeing develops the strategic vision which guides the College in being a place where each student feels safe, valued and connected and are supported in building the skills and attributes which will enable them to flourish now and in the future.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">The Director of Learning and Wellbeing leads the development of an innovative wellbeing program and College-wide understanding of current youth issues whilst building the capacity of College staff to nurture the wellbeing of young people across all College settings.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This role is a permanent full-time position. This role has a teaching component, approximately 0.5, in an appropriate area of expertise. The Director of Learning and Wellbeing is a member of the College Executive and reports to the Principal.</p> <h2 dir="ltr">The Director of Learning and Wellbeing is responsible:</h2> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to support the Principal in motivating both staff and students to aspire to the mission of the school and to achieve its aims and goals.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to provide inspiring leadership in the area of wellbeing and to ensure that wellbeing policies reflect the values of the Bede Polding College Mission Statement.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">To lead and oversee all student management practices within the College.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to lead and develop the team of Wellbeing Year leaders and provide professional support for them.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to work with the Leaders of Wellbeing and the School Counsellor to develop and evaluate Wellbeing programs and practices that are appropriate to the needs of each Year group</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to be responsible for the overview of the Wellbeing program in each Year and across Year groups.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to monitor and assess developments in Wellbeing and report regularly to the school community</p> </li> </ul> <h3 dir="ltr">SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES</h3> <p dir="ltr">Students</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to be responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective student management plan.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to oversee student management issues.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to ensure parents are familiar with the school behaviour code and the lines of communication with staff.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to exercise discretion in the case of individual students in terms of appropriate outcomes and consequences.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to monitor and implement appropriate procedures to ensure that the school uniform is worn appropriately and with pride by the students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to monitor student absences in conjunction with the Leaders of Wellbeing and the effective maintenance of class rolls and school policies relating to student attendance.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Oversee the SRC&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to coordinate the allocation of students into GEM groups in liaison with the Leaders of Wellbeing</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to coordinate, oversee and evaluate the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective student management database.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">Staff</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to meet regularly with the school Counsellor on Wellbeing issues.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to ensure that all staff are familiar with the student management policy and the consequences of inappropriate behaviour.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to provide guidance to staff in the application and interpretation of the school student management policy</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">Leaders of Wellbeing&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to organise regular meetings of the Wellbeing team.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to encourage the ongoing professional development of the Leaders of Wellbeing&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">to assist in the appraisal of&nbsp; Leaders of Wellbeing&nbsp;</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the College Principal</p> <p dir="ltr">&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out-of-school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
