<p>The Headmaster seeks to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Christian educator to this position. The successful candidate will join the highly professional, dynamic and industrious English Faculty. The successful applicant will need to be able to teach across all secondary stages, with the ability to teach Advanced English and Extension 1.</p><p>The staff of Macarthur are beneficiaries of an Apple laptop computer (for the duration of employment), a supportive Christian teaching environment and well-resourced facilities.</p><p>Candidates for this role will need to demonstrate:</p><ul><li>a passion for teaching and deep knowledge of the syllabus content, notably Stage 6, including Extension 1, with Extension 2 an advantage;</li><li>a passion for literature and reading;</li><li>A passion for developing public speaking and debating skills in students;</li><li>a passion for developing creativity and high expectations in student work;</li><li>an innovative approach to teaching and learning;</li><li>comprehensive understanding of classroom differentiation; and,</li><li>a deep understanding of how students think and learn.</li></ul><p>The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate innovative use of ICT in teaching and learning, proficiency in writing teaching programmes, and understanding of best practices in student assessment and feedback.
