The School is co-educational Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 girls-only Years 7 to 12, and girls Boarding Years 5 to 12. </p><p>The School&#39;s size privileges its teachers, boarding and support staff to know, value and care for each girl and young boy, partnering with them to ensure their learning pathway is rigorous and personalised, yet broad and balanced, and enhanced by healthy and respectful relationships within a culture of care. </p><p>At NEGS, we seek employees who will continue to support our School in being one of the top regional Day and Boarding Schools in Australia. </p><p>Purpose of the Position </p><p>This position requires an enthusiastic and engaging Stage 5 and 6 Visual Arts Teacher with the capacity to teach Stage 4 Technology, who is committed and passionate about sharing knowledge in a way that motivates and inspires students to realise their potential. The Visual Art Teacher will be responsible for managing student learning within the creative arts team, preparing lessons and curriculum, as well as guiding students through the completion of major works and projects. </p><p>As a teacher at NEGS, you should strive to be approachable and caring, and to convey a passion for your subject area to your students. </p><p>Key Selection Criteria </p><p>Required: </p><p>A Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Post Graduate Diploma, or Masters, of Education. </p><p>Current Teachers’ Accreditation with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA). </p><p>Hold or ability to obtain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) number. </p><p>Demonstrated knowledge of the secondary Visual Arts, and Design and Technology curriculums and assessment, with the ability to design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs, and assessment and reporting strategies. </p><p>Guide students in the development of portfolios, major works and projects. </p><p>Plan, coordinate and prepare displays and exhibitions for the School and for the community. </p><p>Outstanding people skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. </p><p>Highly organised, with competent administration and IT skills. </p><p>Committed to ongoing professional development and personal growth. </p><p>Be skilled in classroom management and administration. </p><p>Understand the need to provide effective feedback to students in order to improve their understanding and learning. </p><p>Possess a drive to achieve the best outcomes for students, parents and the School. </p><p>Willingness to attend School events as an active member in the School community. </p><p>Willingness to contribute and display an active commitment to the pastoral care and co-curricular programs in the School. </p><p>Appreciation of the principles and practices of independent schools, in particular, boarding schools. </p><p>Preferred: </p><p>Demonstrated experience in a similar position. </p><p>The ability to teach a variety of subjects would be advantageous. </p><p>Application Process </p><p>Applications will be received until 5pm, Wednesday 14 December 2022.
