Domremy College is seeking to appoint an outstanding, innovative and experienced teacher with a strong academic background for the prominent position of Leader of School Administration to commence Term 1, 2023. This position is a permanent full time 2 point remuneration allocation with a 3 point time allocation. This may change as our enrolments continue to grow.

<p>The Leader of School Administration is a delegated responsibility by the Principal and a member of the College Leadership Team. The Leader of School Administration shares with the Principal responsibility for providing quality Catholic education for students in their care. He/she has particular responsibility for a diverse range of administrative tasks that ensure the smooth and professional operation of the College. The Leader of School Administration is directly responsible to the Deputy Principal in carrying out his/her duties.</p><p><b>Key Selection criteria: </b></p><p>The Leader of School Administration is a delegated responsibility by the Principal for the leadership and management of the following key areas: </p><p><b>1. Contributing to the development of the College as a faith community by</b>: </p><ul><li>supporting the mission and ethos of the Catholic School in the Presentation tradition. </li><li>giving personal witness to Catholic values in carrying out the day-to-day duties of the position. </li><li>contributing to the development of the College&#39;s Catholic culture through the promotion of Christian values and supporting the Religious Education teaching program. </li><li>supporting and promoting the College&#39;s Pastoral care policy. </li></ul><p><b>2. Collaborating in the promotion of the College as a centre of quality teaching and learning by:</b></p><ul><li>promoting academic excellence in a caring environment. </li><li>ensuring adequate supervision and provision of student work for all classes/duties of absent teachers. </li><li>supporting the structures, procedures and production of reports of student progress. </li><li>collaborating with KLA Coordinators/TIC regarding development of exam/assessment timetables. </li><li>organising Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews. </li><li>overseeing all aspects of the Awards Ceremonies. </li><li>organising the staffing and rooming during examination periods. </li></ul><p><b>3. Contributing to the development of a cohesive staff community by: </b></p><ul><li>contributing to staff morale through approaches which encourage consultation, collaboration, communication and teamwork. </li><li>giving practical support to the Deputy Principal and Year Coordinators where appropriate. </li><li>collaborating with the Deputy Principal to maintain the balance of open and fair processes for the allocation of extra/supplementary/in lieu duties for staff, with giving consideration to particular staff members on occasions where necessary. </li><li>demonstrating excellent presentation and communication skills. </li></ul><p><b>4. Contributing to the effective leadership and administration of the College by:</b><br /></p><ul><li>implementing structures and procedures that are conducive to the efficient daily functioning of the College. This includes: </li></ul><p>          -      covering morning replacements </p><p>          -      coordinating casual staff </p><p>          -      taking absence calls from staff and informing the Principal of the particular circumstances of such absences </p><p>          -      organising necessary room changes </p><p>          -      planning and maintaining duty rosters </p><p>          -      bell times and variations to these where necessary </p><p>          -      updating student and staff timetables here necessary </p><p>          -      Maintaining the calendar including the setting up of various college events in Compass </p><p>          -      Liaising with office staff in regards to completion of leave forms for absent staff and payment forms for casual                       staff. </p><ul><li>collaborating with the College Leadership Team, Learning Committee and Middle Leaders in developing and maintaining the College timetable and Daily Administration throughout the year. </li><li>maintaining College class lists. </li><li>liaising with relevant staff members for special events e.g. Opening Mass, High Achievers Assembly, Year 12 Graduation Mass, etc… </li><li>overseeing the setting up of Hall or other venues for exams, Parent-Student-Teacher interviews or special occasions, in collaboration with appropriate coordinator’s committees. </li><li>taking an active role in system and college initiatives to manage change. </li><li>undertaking other such tasks and responsibilities as may be requested by the Principal. </li></ul><p><b>Desirable: </b></p><ul><li>Knowledge of Edval and Compass (training available).</li><li>Masters in Education/Educational Leadership or similar, if possible.</li><li>Experience of 5 years of teaching.</li></ul><p>Applicants should register their expression of interest by submitting their Curriculum Vitae together with a covering letter to the Principal, Mrs Antoinette McGahan.
