Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) continues to be a thriving and growing contemporary educational community with over 150 schools, more than 71,000 students, 10,000 staff and a large alumni community.<br> <br><strong> About the role</strong><br> <br> The Specialist: School Operations Unit (SOU) is works with the Manager: School Operations Unit, and the School Operations Unit team and plays a vital role in to ensure that schools are supported to operationalise system projects and accountabilities.<br> <br> The SOU is a team of 7 people (Manager, 4 SOU Specialists, SOU intake officer and an enrolment officer) and is part of the System Performance Directorate. The SOU is responsible for supporting accountability between the Directors: System Performance, School Operations Unit and school leaders, monitoring key school metrics and facilitating and effective working relationship between schools within and between networks.<br> <br><strong> Major Accountabilities</strong><br> <br> Your key responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>supporting the work and planning of school leaders and networks across a diverse range of contemporary operational areas</li>
<li>supporting the delivery of a cohesive educational and mission strategy across SCS with the relevant principals and school leaders</li>
<li>making decisions, in respect to strategic and project initiatives to ensure SCS is a leader in the provision of educational excellence</li>
<li>managing and responding to inquiries from parents, principals, students and community members including conducting reviews and inquiries into specific issues</li>
<li>building and developing relationships with school leaders and other directorates to define operational strategies, working with the Directors: System Performance on special projects</li>
<li>working with the Directors: System Performance, Manager: School Operations Unit and other Directorates to pursue strategic priorities, help to identify the areas of key focus and identify metrics for success; revisiting regularly and evaluating progress</li>
<li>coordinating the implementation of strategic initiatives across schools and networks</li>
<li>ensuring that data is being effectively and critically analysed to inform school improvement</li>
<li>clarifying the interpretation of data to inform and evaluate projects and programs</li>
<li>promoting and implementing Sydney Catholic Schools' mission and vision To know and love Christ through learning and Thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The Person</strong><br> <br> To be successful in this position, you must possess:</p>
<ul>
<li>post graduate qualifications in Education and/or Curriculum, Research or Leadership</li>
<li>a minimum of 10 years experience in Leadership</li>
<li>experience in leading a multi-disciplined team</li>
<li>willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools</li>
<li>ability to represent the mission of the Catholic Church through your personal and professional conduct.</li>
<li>is a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community such as a parish or an established community within the Catholic Church, as an expression of their relationship with Jesus Christ.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>experience is a similar substantive position</li>
<li>demonstrated innovation in an educational facility</li>
<li>a Current driver's licence.</li>
