The student population is rapidly growing and Hennessy has demonstrated it is able to adapt and cater for the needs and interests of all students in this period of expansion.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>An excellent opportunity exists for a <strong>House Leader&nbsp;</strong>to join our dynamic team at Hennessy Catholic College, Young.&nbsp;</p> <p>The House Leader is responsible to the Assistant Principal Mission and Wellbeing&nbsp; and, as a Middle Leader, shares responsibility for promoting the Catholic Ethos of the College and ensuring the pastoral wellbeing of staff and students. At all times, middle leaders are responsible to the Principal.</p> <p><em>The successful applicant will also be able to teach from Stage 4 - Stage 6 preferably in two or more subject areas including Religious Education.</em></p> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>A strong commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the College and a demonstrated ability to foster it in the college community.</li> <li>Strong professional experience in his/her teaching areas and a demonstrated ability to lead innovation in the House and school.</li> <li>A demonstrated capacity to effectively coordinate and supervise a House team and to foster professional development of staff.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in small and large group situations. Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise, with consistency, with students, parents and staff.</li> <li>An ability to work collaboratively as part of the Middle Leadership Team, and the Executive to plan and implement whole school goals and to effect change.</li> <li>High level planning and organisation skills and the capacity to solve problems in a creative way.</li> <li>An understanding of issues affecting young people and a demonstrated ability to support students and staff creatively and effectively including through implementation of the College’s Restorative Practice behaviour management policies.</li> <li>An ability to develop within the House forward-thinking professionals whose aim is to promote excellent outcomes for all students.</li> <li>Professional judgement including the maintenance of absolute confidentiality, ensuring appropriate liaison with relevant colleagues and outside agencies and fulfilment of legal responsibilities.</li> <li>Meticulous record keeping skills and an understanding of the legal implications surrounding the maintenance of records.</li> </ul> <p><strong>To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (to be an Religious Education Teacher), an employee must:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must hold a relevant Working with Children registration and Teaching Accreditation.</li> <li>Have or be prepared to work towards achieving Category C: RE Accreditation for Leadership in Catholic Education</li> <li>RE teachers must have completed, be due to completed, or have a willingness to complete Accreditation D – Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school</li> </ul> <p><em>Please refer to the role description for an in-depth detail regarding criteria and skill set required.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br></em><em><br></em><strong>Application Process</strong></p> <p>Applications are invited from interested candidates able to demonstrate a commitment to the vision of Catholic Education.</p> <p>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes and experience as outlined in the Position Description.</p> <p>This position involves working with children.
