Sydney Catholic Schools is seeking a Occupational Therapist to work across two of our schools. Both Good Shepherd Primary School and Good Samaritan Catholic College have onsite Specialist Support Classes catering to students with complex needs. We are seeking a passionate, experienced and fully qualified Occupational Therapist who will work across these two schools.</p><p>Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School is a systemic K-6 school within the Archdiocese of Sydney. Our challenge is to make a positive contribution to the transformation of society by encouraging independent and creative thinkers to search out new ways of dealing with our rapidly changing world. </p><p><b>About the role </b></p><p><i>The successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria: </i></p><ul><li>Graduate qualifications in Occupational Therapy. </li><li>Five years or more Occupational Therapy experience. </li><li>Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board. </li><li>Willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools. </li></ul><p><b><i>Applications will be considered based on the following levels of experience: </i></b></p><ul><li>Experience in liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders. </li><li>Working collaboratively with teaching teams to recommend, implement and review a range of adjustments to support the needs of students. </li><li>Strong time management skills demonstrated through self-direction and self initiation. </li><li>High order communication skills. </li><li>Working with students who have a range of complex disabilities including complex communication needs (CCN) and students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). </li><li>Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Key Word Sign and a wide range of AAC tools. </li><li>Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information. </li><li>Experience with, and knowledge of, the NCCD and NDIS. </li></ul><p>We prefer the successful applicant to also have the following desired qualifications: </p><ul><li>Post Graduate qualification in Occupational Therapy or Education. </li></ul><p><b>How to Apply </b></p><p>Applications must be addressed to Ms Melinda Dinale via the email address below with the following; </p><ul><li>a current resume </li><li>covering letter which will reflect the above criteria and </li><li>3 referees including name and contact details. </li></ul><p>Ms Melinda Dinale - Specialist: Diverse Learning Infrastructure<br /><b>Email: </b>Melinda.dinale&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au</p><p><b>Working With Children Check (WWCC) </b></p><p>This role is classified as child-related work and therefore requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment. </p><p><b>COVID-19 Vaccination Evidence </b></p><p>Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, students and school communities.
