<p><b>Casual Teachers - K-6 EAL/D Intensive English Program for New Arrivals </b></p><p>Catholic Schools Broken Bay is currently seeking passionate and skilled Casual Teachers to join us for our K-6 English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) Intensive English Program for New Arrivals. This is why we are delighted to have recently launched our comprehensive three-tiered staff wellbeing program. </p><p>• Early implementation of EA benefits: We have announced the early implementation of negotiated improvements in conditions for our staff, including improved parental leave for temporary staff and non-primary carers. </p><p><b>About the role </b></p><p>Reporting to the Student Achievement – Learning Partner K-12 EAL/D and Curriculum, you will be responsible for working with students one-on-one on an Intensive English Program for New Arrivals to ensure that students are provided with expert teaching and support to develop their English language and literacy skills, enabling them to achieve educational outcomes. </p><p>You will be tasked with identifying students’ needs by following established frameworks and curriculum as well as planning programs to deliver effective language and literacy skills to support the curriculum needs of students new to Australia. Your role will be to ultimately monitor English and literacy development of these students along with academic performance and wellbeing to create positive learning environments. There may be a requirement to travel between schools across our Diocese but we will take into consideration your geographic location and preferences. </p><p><b>Specific Criteria </b></p><p>• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission of Catholic Schools Broken Bay </p><p>• Experience teaching EAL/D students and/or new arrivals or willing to be upskilled in the area </p><p>• Understanding of pedagogical practices that are successful for EAL/D students who are new arrivals to Australia </p><p>• Ability to engage in EAL/D identification and assessment processes and/or willing to be upskilled in the area </p><p>• Capacity to analyse students work samples using the ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions to measure progress and direct (class teachers) teaching and learning </p><p>• Ability to plan, implement and review effective teaching resources to meet new arrivals needs </p><p>• Maintain documentation to assist with students’ progress and to direct teaching and learning </p><p>• Demonstrate a commitment to communicate with parents, colleagues and CSBB Student Achievement- Learning Partner K-12 EAL/D and Curriculum to support new arrivals progress </p><p>• Display commitment to work with CSBB Student Achievement- Learning Partner K-12 EAL/D and Curriculum to be upskilled in this field </p><p>Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese. </p><p><b>About us, our Vision and our Towards 2025 Strategy </b></p><p>Our Vision is to provide &#39;authentic, professional Catholic education, delivered with care and compassion&#39;.
