Southern Cross Catholic College is an inclusive faith learning community where the dignity of all is respected. </div><div><br /></div><div> </div><div>The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) employs presiding officers, as casual employees, appointed under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013. NESA works with schools and presiding officers to ensure the successful conduct of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) exams. The presiding officer is responsible for managing the preparation, conduct and supervision of the HSC exams. The presiding officer is supported by supervision staff. </div><div><br /></div><div><b><br /></b></div><div><b>The presiding officer must: </b></div><ul><li>have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance for employment </li><li>be well-organised </li><li> have good attention to detail<br /></li><li>be able to effectively manage students and a team of supervisors </li><li>use a vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy </li><li>be available to complete preparatory work and training tasks prior to the HSC exams </li><li>be available for the ENTIRE exam period (9 October 2023 to 3 November 2023) </li><li>have an email address and mobile number </li><li>have intermediate working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, emails and downloading documents etc.</li></ul><p><b>A person CANNOT be nominated for the position of presiding officer if:</b><br /></p><p> </p><ul><li>they have a near relative (including children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews or first cousins) sitting the HSC exams this year at any school. </li><li>they are/were recently employed by the school (paid or volunteer). </li><li>Southern Cross Catholic College will nominate the successful applicant to NESA.</li></ul><p>Please submit an expression of interest to the College Principal by 6th April 2023.</p><div><b> </b></div><div><b> </b></div><div><b> </b></div><p> </p><p> </p>
